Starfield became the unexpected story of a mediocre game that was the flashpoint of pushback to woke accommodations invading modern gaming and entertainment in general.

At its core, Starfield is essentially a remix of past Bethesda games done in a sci-fi style, however many would consider it a downgrade if anything due to many purposeful time wasting game design decisions and the usual lack of polish common in Bethesda games. That said, for those who love the Bethesda RPG format, they will probably enjoy Starfield enough as a comfort game style.

Game quality aside, the real Starfield conflict story comes down to principles. From the start with character creation, players are presented with options that are only typical in “modern” gaming.

Once at the body selection screen, players are offered Body Type and Walk style, only 2 options exist for each where option 1 is obviously intended for male sex and option 2 for female sex. The only people this type of labeling for is gender queer activists that want to erase the concept of biological sex differences. Traditionally trans people just want to fully be the opposite sex, so how much demand is actually out there to recreate some real world incomplete transition sadness in an RPG character?

Additionally from a game-dev perspective these options are pretty lazy where separate from sex, body type could be used to define top vs bottom heavy people as just one example. Walk style is also pretty subtle where it shouldn’t be that hard with modern tech to have a slider to flow between juiced up gym rat masculine to stripper on the catwalk feminine.

Notably for later points, facial hair customization is only available to Body Type 1 (MALE)

The rest of the character customization goes about as most would expect, however at the very end the player is prompted to give their name and pronoun. By default the appropriate sex pronouns are given based on body type, however the player can change them to HE/HIM, SHE/HER, or THEY/THEM.

Jumping back a bit to show more context, in 2021 on a reddit “Ask Me Anything” thread, Todd Howard, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios noted:
“Really excited about what the team has done with character creation here. Including choosing background, skills, etc. You also can pick your pronoun (he, she, they) and we've recorded all the relevant dialogue to support that choice.”

This specific comment received 4.7k upvotes keeping up with Reddit side expectations, but there were some amusing replies. Unsurprisingly many of those accounts are deleted.

You might be asking yourself, hold up, since when do Bethesda games have scenes where the main characters are referred to in 3rd person to cause the use of gendered pronouns? Yeah I can’t think of any examples either, thus all of this is virtue signaling nonsense.

The pronouns basically don't do anything :( - https://archive.ph/tRHJF

This in combination with other sprinkles of woke pandering in the game led to HeelvsBabyface making an epic video rant which could be best summarized as “FUCKING PROOONOUNS!”

Soon after rant explanation:

Highlights including:

“There is nothing I love more than to sit down, comfy chair, turn on the PC, fire up a brand-new RPG, lose myself, think, ‘Oh my God just think of this world! Just think of all the planets I can visit — all the immersive things that I can get involved with, all the fights, all the relationships, all the people I meet, all the places I go, I’m so excited to go there,'” the streamer began. “And you know, I love nothing more than with all of that laid out in front of me, I love nothing more than to be dragged down at every fucking conceivable opportunity so you can fucking ‘current-day’ us!”

“Sorry, did you want to get immersed in our world? Yeah, well guess what? Fucking pronouns. Fucking gender ambiguity, fucking current day Californian shit, because that’s all we fucking know. Because we’re boring. We’re so fucking boring. We can’t see past our own fucking reflection.”

Those who did not agree of course came out of the woodwork to declare disagreement with most arguments being something along the lines of:
“Why get so mad over pronouns that don’t affect you snowflake”
“It’s no big deal, you can completely ignore the pronoun option”

This argument is pretty terrible as there are quite a vast amount of options that could be rammed into a game and technically not greatly affect gameplay. As if these clowns wouldn’t get mad if a character creation screen randomly said “There are only 2 genders and abortion is bad”
Additionally, the default “hair style” could be covered in rainbow dildos and technically it doesn’t change the gameplay, but that doesn’t mean it makes any damn sense in the game either.

So far there seem to be 2 types of people that agree with the “no big deal” concept. One group is just leftist activists that want to shut up the opposition, the others are people that are over accommodating and are unaware this is just one step on the slippery slope. We already have real world examples of this; colleges went from asking he/him - she/her pronouns, to adding they/them, then next thing you know they have 30+ pronoun choice lists. The concept has no rational conclusion therefore humoring it in any way is to accommodate mental illness while corrupting language for everyone else.

One great example of this was The Act Man deciding to white night for “the system” by complaining about HeelvsBabyface complaining.

The Act Man then tries to pretend he has not changed, to immediately be wrecked showing times in the past where complained about pronouns in the KOTOR remake

To then also be reminded of his past edge lord use of words such as “nigger” and “faggot”

For a bonus burn, The Act Man got blasted by community notes right after posting “Community Notes exposes so many liars, grifters and  so much misinformation on this platform, it's unreal.”

Those who understood the true ramifications of GamerGate summarize the situation well:

This fallacy meme sums up what is generally going on:

Fallacy Starfield Meme 001

Other comical critique trends included declaring choosing pronouns was the same as classic Pokemon games asking the player at the start “Are you a boy? Or are you a girl?”
The disconnection from reality to think this is a logical argument is quite baffling since if anything, it proves classic games just had players choose sex and there wasn’t any custom pronoun selection nonsense.

In a similar theme, the retards over at Reddit Gamingcirclejerk want to pretend the existence of anyone complaining about pronouns meant all pronouns including non gendered ones. As if these people don’t have neo pronoun posters on their walls, meanwhile they call everyone else “uneducated bigots” as they attack their ghost strawman of delusional origins.

Regarding the Starfield pronoun removal mod discussion - https://archive.ph/SOC8S

And completing the pile, TheGamer wrote a trash article that promoted a meme of similar concept that declares: “Everyone has pronouns dip shit” Again these people are in some sort of fantasy land inferring anyone requested absolutely no pronouns to be used in games. The author, Rhiannon Bevan (A woke female game article writer, who could have guessed), amusingly admits “Alright, jokes aside, I'll assume that these people are aware that they have pronouns.” THEN WHY POST THE FUCKING MEME THEN?

Idiots Are Freaking Out Over Starfield's Pronouns - https://archive.ph/Le1jc

The stream of brain rot is quite a ride as she goes from:
“credit to Heel vs Babyface, the name of this creator, since Heel vs Babyface doesn't have pronouns, I suppose.”
Shows pronouns meme, then declares “I'll assume that these people are aware that they have pronouns” immediately after. It’s like watching a mind at war with itself wishing so desperately for a meme to be true yet deep down know it is alternate reality.

One argument that at least is not in complete alternate reality includes the claim it is hypocritical for those who championed Hogwarts Legacy to suddenly call Starfield woke. Hogwarts Legacy did indeed include some woke aspects such as a forced insert of a trans character that didn’t please any side. Although JK Rowling did not write specifically for Hogwarts Legacy, it is notable to this subject that JK Rowling was definitely considered a leftist before being exiled by trans activists and ally enablers for having the “wild” belief in women’s rights. It is the original sin that the same type of people who are claiming pronouns are no big deal in Starfield are the ones that tried to get people canceled for playing Hogwarts Legacy for no other reason than they just hate the idea JK Rowling might make money on it. Perhaps it is a reasonable claim to say it would be more consistent for an anti-woke gamer to also hate Hogwarts Legacy, but this is a flawed end result debate argument since those bringing it up would just be mad that said person now claims 2 things are woke instead of 1. As if we are supposed to pretend these jokers would hi-five HeelvsBabyface for consistency if he called Hogwarts mega woke too.

Logic theory aside, the starfield reaction is more of a straw that broke the camel’s back effect. People have been noticing the far left rhetoric forcibly inserted into their lives more and more and are getting tired enough about it to finally speak up.

Back to the starter “It’s no big deal claim”, it turns out when anyone tries to make a mod to remove this supposed no-big-deal, suddenly it is a fucking real big deal. This part of the story began as speculation on NexusMods banning any pronoun removal mods, however preemptive defending was short lived as the confirmation soon became more clear. The fact people tried to call the claim “manufactured outrage” was hilarious as anyone with any sense knew NexusMods was going to ban any pronoun removal mods.

Trolls are spreading disinformation about the Nexus. - https://archive.ph/3lWOD

The Niche Gamer summarized this part of the story well: Nexus Mods reportedly banning Starfield mods that remove pronouns

Apparently those who tried to claim gamers were quick to assume completely forgot about how NexusMods banned the spiderman mod that performed the great “crime” of replacing pride flags with US Flags. Notably the mod was done by putting the game in the equivalent of Middle East region mode. Also less remembered, pronoun removal mods for Battletech 2018 were banned from NexusMods.

To finally clear things up EuroGamer did an article titled: Starfield's pronoun-removal mod has been banned by NexusMods quoting NexusMods as declaring:

"Hosting this mod was not for us and it is certainly within our rights not to host content on our platform," NexusMods told 404 Media.

"It's not a 'political statement' or an 'alignment to one side or the other in the culture war'. We stand for diversity and inclusion in our community and the removal of diversity, while appealing to many, does not promote a positive modding community."

"A reinforcement that this has been the best course of action has been some of the hatred, vitriol and threats of violence coming from a very, very small minority of the community," NexusMods concluded. "Frankly, we are not sad to see them go."

Absolutely not noted in this article was that NexusMods hosts many other mods that many people would find more objectionable involving children, sexual themes, and slavery. Not that most freedom of speech advocates want NexusMods to ramp things up, but the selective political based moralism is quite obvious. As an additional note, out of 50ish comments on the article, it appears clear EuroGamer is moderating comments to show biased favoritism towards NexusMods' decision. That said, EuroGamer just being another trash site attracting mostly tech-lefties is believable as well.

Soon after, and to little surprise, another large mod hosting site, Moddb also bans pronoun removal mods:

Although not pronoun specific some other ridiculous Starfield articles include:

The Mary Sue - I’m Not Loving the Latest Meme About ‘Starfield’s NPC Faces

Leftist activist site The Mary Sue complains about memes making fun of Starfield’s obvious forced diversity in NPC generation in combination with janky facial animations.

In contrast, Asmongold has some reasonable thoughts on the general forced diversity subject:

The clickbait champs at TheGamer however really went all in and so far has THREE articles bitching about anything to do with cops in Starfield:

TheGamer - I Snitched To A Cop In Starfield And Now I’m Mad At The Game

TheGamer - I Wish Starfield Didn't Give Me So Many Ways To Be A Cop

TheGamer - There’s No Hope For Anyone Who Plays Starfield As A Cop

The fact three different people wrote these articles that are just as ridiculous as the titles look, really signals what kind of people TheGamer is hiring. This batch including: Tessa Kaur, Jade King, and Ben Sledge. As a recap that is already 3 no-name female writers making rage bait articles for the TheGamer and let's check in on ol' cuck Ben: Ben Sledge TheGamer Profile

"Ben is a Features Editor at TheGamer. You can read his work in Eurogamer, The Guardian, IGN, Kotaku, The Loadout, NME, VICE, or on Twitter @BenSledge." ? That is like the top pokemon collection of woke-ass websites.

This Starfield Pronouns saga has likely peaked, but we will keep an eye out for notable additions to the subject. So far on a youtube search for "starfield pronouns" there certainly are a lot of long ass videos trying to tell the world how people making Starfield critiques are X-phobe losers and should shut up. I think this is quite telling and on that note, a solid meme on the way out, these Bethesda woke knights be all:
